Ashton Civic Society

• The Society believes that an attractive and well-planned town enhances the quality of life.
• Our interests range from local history and conservation to planning and civic pride.
• In short, anything to do with Ashton’s built environment!

About the society
• We organise talks and visits
• We attend meetings and discussion groups such as Ashton Assembly and the Tameside Local History Forum
• We discuss and comment on developments in the town
• We raise issues of concern to members
• We aim to encourage high standards of town planning and, through our Building of the Year, promote and recognise good building design.

If you share these interests, you are invited to attend our meetings, or join us and gain the benefits of membership! [Meetings currently suspended – please check back later.]
